Grand Lake Stream (GLS) has been regulated as fly fishing only since 1903. This little river connects two major bodies of water beginning at the outlet of West Grand Lake and flowing three miles before dumping into Big Lake. For years, GLS has attracted anglers from around the world seeking to fish for landlocked salmon and brook trout.

The GLS fishing season opens April 1 and continues through October 25th.

During the spring season most of the fishing is done with streamers and nymphs. Once the water temp begins to warm as we get closer to summer, the bugs become much more active presenting opportunities to hook fish on dry flies. During October you can expect two things: beautiful scenery and aggressive fish.

A GLS wade trip is a half or full day of fishing for one or two anglers.
